What this covers for massage studios
- The query set is built for massage, not for “local business”: massage near me, deep tissue massage, prenatal massage, couples massage gift certificate, sports massage for runners.
- Modality matters more here than in almost any category we have measured. A studio can be named for “massage” and invisible for “prenatal”. We report per modality, not one score.

How it runs
- You send the studio's website and city. Nothing else is needed to start.
- We build the query set from how massage clients actually ask - by modality (deep tissue, prenatal, sports, lymphatic, couples), by occasion (gift certificate, first massage, after an injury) and by constraint (late evening, same day, walk-in, mobile).
- Each query is run on the assistants and the answer is captured whole - the named studios, the order, and the sentence written about each one.
- We do the same for the three or four studios nearest you that keep appearing, so you can see what is being said about them and not about you.
- We read your site the way an assistant reads it - the HTML, not the rendered page - and mark what is present as text and what is locked inside the booking widget.

What this does not do
This is a measurement, not a placement. We do not promise that your studio will appear in any assistant's answer, and no honest vendor in this category can.
We do not audit classic Google rankings, because we do not measure them. Where a finding touches your Google Business Profile or your reviews we say so plainly and stop at what we actually observed.
Questions massage studios ask us
I already rank on Google for massage in my city. Isn't that enough?
In our own citation map, around half of the pages an AI answer quoted did not appear in the first ten organic results for the same question. Ranking and being quoted are decided differently, so a ranking report cannot tell you whether you are in the answer. That is the gap this report measures.
We are a mobile massage service with no premises. Does the report still work?
Yes, and the query set changes: mobile and in-home phrasing replaces the walk-in and neighbourhood phrasing, and the service-area question becomes central. Mobile providers are usually invisible for exactly one reason - the area they cover exists as a claim on a contact page rather than as a list a machine can read.
